{"id":13950,"date":"2024-11-20T13:45:22","date_gmt":"2024-11-20T04:45:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mecc-nano.com\/?p=13950"},"modified":"2025-01-07T08:52:24","modified_gmt":"2025-01-06T23:52:24","slug":"we-challenged-ourselves-to-spinning-with-a-simple-electrospinning-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mecc-jp.com\/nano\/latest-news\/13950\/","title":{"rendered":"The HSP-101 syringe pump is ideal for electrospinning"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Come to think of it, I\u2019ve never once worried about getting an electric shock while using <a href=\"https:\/\/mecc-jp.com\/nano\/equipment11\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NANON<\/a> in the lab.<br>(Although, during lab training, there was that challenge of touching the operating NANON spinneret to experience its high level of safety\u2026)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When researching nanofiber applications, I often come across statements about electrospinning systems, <strong>mentioning that their principles are simple and that they allow for relatively easy production of nanofibers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of our customers have purchased our <a href=\"https:\/\/mecc-jp.com\/nano\/components03\/#a01\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">high-voltage power supplies<\/a> and are using their own custom-built electrospinning systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u25a0 Spinning with a simple electrospinning system<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to the simplicity of the principle of electrospinning systems, many researchers have attempted to generate nanofibers in their own systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/mecc-jp.com\/nano\/equipment11\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NANON<\/a> we always use is certainly not scary, even when outputting 30kV. Plus, it\u2019s so convenient with automated preparation processes and features that handle tasks on behalf of the user\u2014just like it says in the catalog! But how much of a difference does it actually make in practice?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So this time, we tried spinning nanofibers using our <a href=\"https:\/\/mecc-jp.com\/nano\/components03\/#a01\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">high-voltage power supply<\/a> and simple equipment!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mecc-jp.com\/nano\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/DSC03651-1024x683.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5003 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"background-color:#ffde82\"><strong>Materials Used:<\/strong><br>\u30fbCardboard collector covered with aluminum foil<br>\u30fbSyringe pump<br>\u3000(from another manufacturer)<br>\u30fbOur High Voltage Power Supply<br>\u30fbAlligator clips, high voltage cable, ground wire<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PEO solution was set in a syringe and a syringe needle was connected with an alligator clip. High voltage (15 kV) was applied to attempt spinning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:23px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u25a0 Spinning Challenges and Troubles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Output: 15kV!
